Project Summary:

Performed as a part of JUMP! Into Greality: A Dance Minor Capstone Concert, Godzilla 4+4 Las Vegas is an epic battle staged through dance. The original piece of music was written by Eric Whitacre and tells the story (quite literally) of Godzilla eating Las Vegas and the Vegans who save the day. As a choreographer I adapted Whitacre’s story to the stage in a campy, cartoon-like style as an ode to the joy creating undergrad theatre can bring.

Whitacre wrote “Godzilla Eats Las Vegas” as an ode to the University of Las Vegas that he attended for six years after which he was ready to eat Vegas. After my time at the University of Northern Colorado I was ready to eat the city Greeley, but not without going out on a bang!
